Episode Two
S1 E2: Ghost Hunting at the Lizzie Borden House
Fear looks different when you’re walking through one of the most infamous murder houses in America at 3:00 in the morning.
For the second episode of I’m Brendan and This Scares Me, my friend Brad and I spent the night inside the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, Massachusetts, a place known for one of the most notorious unsolved murder cases in American history.
As a firefighter, veteran, and father, I’ve seen things that most people never will. But stepping into a house where two brutal murders took place over 130 years ago brought a completely different kind of fear.
In Episode Two, we investigate the house from midnight until sunrise using EMF detectors, a REMPOD, audio recorders, and a lot of nervous laughter. What started as curiosity quickly turned into something neither of us expected.
Throughout the night, we experienced unexplained sounds, sudden temperature changes, strange shadows, and responses captured on audio that we didn’t hear in the moment. At times we found ourselves questioning what we were hearing, seeing, and feeling.
Were we experiencing something paranormal? Were there logical explanations for everything that happened?
That’s for you to decide.
This episode isn’t about proving ghosts exist. It’s about confronting the fear of the unknown and exploring a place that has fascinated and terrified people for generations.
Because sometimes the things that scare us most aren’t standing right in front of us.
Sometimes they’re standing just beyond what we can explain.
Fear is temporary. Stories last forever.
